"If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and heal their land."  (II Chron. 7:14)

There is Still Hope!!

Reaching This Generation With a Message of Hope!

Where Have All The “Sane” People Gone?

I have lived long enough to realize that “politics” in America, will never be any different, no matter how long we try, or how “different” people and generations may be. I can honestly say, that I have never really, put much stock in politics or politicians. But yet, I never cease to be amazed each election, at how “dumb” the Americans can be, when it comes to reason, morality, truth, and honesty.

I have watched for the past two years, since the campaigns began for the upcoming elections, and I can honestly say I have experienced a vast array of emotions. I have gone from being “uninterested”, to interested; from apathy to anger; from frustration to total shock. I confess that I am not surprised by the vast amount of “lies” and half-truths that spew from the politicians’ mouths. I do confess that I never cease to be amazed at the total stupidity of the American public. It is almost like someone came in the night and robbed our citizens of all human reason. I say to myself daily, “This is a nightmare!”

Again, it is no surprise what the politicians are saying. The shock in my mind is how in my lifetime, I have watched the “dumb-ing down” of the American people, particularly the women and youth. Now don’t get all upset with me and call me a “male-shove nest”, but instead, hear me out.

We have always been a nation of morals and values, particularly in the area of our homes. We have held in high esteem, our families, our children, and our rights to raise them without government intervention. We cherish our communities, our churches, our schools, our civic organizations, and our community spirit. We support our troops and pray for God’s Blessing and protection on our nation. But there is something going on that seems to be taking us in the wrong direction.

Now I have to make clear, that I am not promoting my political views or elevating one candidate over another. I make no apologies for the fact that I am a strong, right-wing, conservative. I believe in the values that God promotes in the Bible. I believe as our President says so often, that liberty and freedom, is a God-given right provided for all men, no matter race, nationality, or color. With that being said, I have to confess that this election has totally caused me to step back and say, “Has everyone lost their mind?”

I listen to TV and Radio, and I hear the various views being promoted. I watch as leaders of our country from both sides of the isles, spout off their “talking points” each day, all the while thinking that the American listener is swallowing it all like a fish taking the bait. It reminds me of the little girl bending down to the little kitten, offering her some of her lunch, that she refuses to eat, but she thinks maybe the cat would like it. So here she goes, “here kitty, kitty, kitty. Come and get it!” She won’t eat it , but maybe the kitten will. I think Politicians are not even believing what they are saying, but they think maybe we will. So here we go, “Here voter, voter, voter. Come and get it!”

I here what they all are saying. Each one convinced he or she is the better candidate. Each one believing they have all the answers. Yet, no one is really certain as to what it is that they will do to fix all the problems. Each one believes the answer is in either the “government” or in one particular “leader.” Maybe because this one is new, he can fix it. Maybe because this one is a seasoned veteran, he can fix it. Maybe because she is an outsider, she can fix it. But the truth is, neither of them have the answer.

What has really baffled me, is the response of the public. Slowly but surely, the public is starting to believe this list of lies and deceit. Men, women, and youth alike are starting to believe, things will be different. This time, it will work. This one will be the answer we are looking for, and all the while, they are sticking out their hands to receive the promise of good things to come. What can you do for me? It is all about me. It is all about helping me and my problem.

We just watched the largest bailout in American history. We are taking our children into almost a trillion dollars worth of debt. And if that is not enough, we are expected to pay out billions more for others who are following behind, with more debt due to their crooked schemes. Our tax dollars for their stupidity. Yet, if I make a bad decision, who is going to bail me out?

We have become a nation of spoiled brats. We want to live the Hollywood lifestyle. We want to have money to throw away. We want to be popular, famous, rich, and fancy free. Yet we do not want to be held responsible for any of our actions, though they may lead to terrible consequences. Just like the rich boy expects his “father” to pay him out of his situation, so are the idiots of Wall Street. Make bad investments, and when it all come crumbling down, “daddy Washington” will make it all better.

We have borrowed so much money from unfriendly nations. We have been the generous giver to everyone in their time of need, but are finding out now, in our time of crisis, our “friends” will not extend to us any more credit. We are eleven trillion in debt, and we will never live to see it all paid. We are basically broke. We are operating on credit, and our credit is about to run out. Our chickens are coming home to roost and we are about to be caught in our own traps. But somehow, we just go on believing those “talking heads” and everything is alright.

Let’s look at the facts. Our nation is in trouble. Financially, we are in desperate trouble. We are in debt up to our eyeballs. Families borrowed money they could never pay back to buy a house they could not afford. Companies are producing second rate products. Workers are asking for more, while doing less, and then they get upset when their job is lost. Government is in chaos. Leaders are confused. In our resent crisis, hundreds of the most intelligent men in America, set around tables, and could not agree on the solution to this problem. Even in our spiritual circles, churches are facing a crisis of their own. From the corruption in the Pulpit to the callousness in the pew, the Churches in this nation are off track. We have come to an age where the most important thing in the minds of the spiritual seeker, are not spiritual things, but carnal. We are drawn to the Church with the “best programs, facilities, etc.” We are more concerned with the extra-curricular activities than with the things of God. We are more concerned with the “exercise room” than with the prayer room. We want a place to “drop” our kids off, instead of a place to “develop” our kids in their walk with God.

We are all responsible for the mess we are in. We did not get here overnight. But in spite of all of these truths, we are literally watching this generation avoid all of the above, and we are blinded into making choices that will change this nation forever. On the one hand, we have a candidate, whose background is certainly “shady”, yet because of his popularity, he will probably be voted in. His direction for this nation is one of higher taxes, more government intervention, less defense, more global cooperation, more “big brother involvement”, more liberal judges to promote more liberal agendas, and an overall desire to create within the borders of this once great America, a new socialist nation, no longer under the God we know, but probably a god that all (including Muslims) will recognize.

On the other hand, we have a veteran, ex-POW, long term Senator, who for the most part, has a credible past. But even though he has no “secret baggage”, his career is not without reproach. To describe him as a “staunch conservative” would be an exaggeration. To be truthful, it has been hard for me to get excited about his campaign. But when looking at the options, to me there is no other choice.

With all that being said, I have watched as this nation once again goes through the season we call the “Presidential Campaign” and we cannot help but be appalled at what we see and hear. It is almost as if people have become “zombies” when listening to the politicians. No matter what they say, people smile and some even cry, insisting that finally the “answer” has come. Men, women, and youth of every walk of life, are so committed to their candidate and nothing will change their mind, not even truth!

I have not been thrilled with anyone who has been on the campaign trail. This is the first year in my life, that I have not been fired up over the election. But I have to confess, that as I watched the debates, I had to walk out of the room in disgust. Everyone is stepping around the issues and no one wants to hear the truth. The truth is, Washington is the problem. This Democracy, (which is supposed to be a Republic) is about to fall. The greed and immorality of leaders have corrupted the foundation of our nation. We have the poorest education system in the world, and somehow we believe instead of changing the system, we just need to spend more money. Our families are in trouble. Our streets are unsafe. Our schools are in chaos. And for all of these problems, the candidates offer as a solution, billions more must be spent. We need healthcare, better education, secure borders, and the list goes on. The answer is to throw more money into the pot. And where will all this money come from to sponsor these programs? Of course, you and I will pay the bill! We will work till the end of May to pay the taxes for this year. It is pathetic!

Where have all the sane people gone? While one cries and sounds the alarm and is labeled as a “pessimist”, others paint a lovely picture of all is well. Both are wrong! Both are off base! Both don’t have a clue!

So, what about you and me? What is one to do in light of all these things? I have to confess, I have considered several options. I first thought about moving. I could move to Montana or some remote place in the USA, or I could move to another country, away from this stupidity. Then I thought about changes sides, and giving in. Maybe I will just jump into the liberal boat, and float away on a bed of ease. But of course, that is not an option. Then of course, if I wasn’t a Christian, drinking or smoking something strong may help for a while, (of course that is illegal and God will kill me, but then at least I would be away from here). Now I am being a little crazy. I am starting to sound like all those around me. That is what I mean. It is making us all crazy.

Now, let’s get back to the issue. What are we to do? Well, God warned us of this day. We knew it was coming, but it looks worse than we really thought it would be. In fact, most of us thought we would not be here anyway. We figured we would be gone already in the Rapture. Oh well, we are still here, so we must go on. We have but one choice. This election is probably gone down the toilet. I am so disgusted with what is about to happen, but I cannot change it. I am going to vote, although I had considered staying home this year. I will vote, and go home and lick my wounds. I am going to prepare for the next four years, which may possibly be the worse in my life, as American life goes. I expect to pay higher taxes. I expect to be in more wars, and I expect to see body bags coming home for the next four years. I expect for America’s respect in this world to continue to diminish. I expect the Congress to stay in gridlock for the next four years. I expect more judges to rule from the bench. I expect more criminals to go free. I expect more prisons to be built. I expect nearly six million babies to be aborted in the US. I expect the school system to cost more and produce less. I expect the government to take away more of my personal freedoms. I expect crime to increase. I expect gas to become unaffordable. I expect groceries to get more expensive. I expect the Christian community become less popular. I expect the flag to become less attractive. I expect the Church to continue on its slippery slope of worldliness and apathy. I expect old time preaching to become unacceptable. I expect old time values to become a thing of the past. I expect the financial chaos of today to become commonplace in the future. I expect this world to continue to go farther and farther from God. IN all, I expect things to get worse, man to become more sinful, Satan to become more active, and hell to become larger. Yet in the midst of it all, I am expecting the Lord Jesus Christ to Come! I believe He is coming again, and in light of all that is going on, I can’t help but believe, it is going to be soon! I can only say, “Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.”
